Marchita
A compact 140km, 3-day Criollo horse competition — all the speed, culture, and barbecue of the Marcha, concentrated into a long weekend.
The Marchita is a shorter but equally thrilling version of the Marcha, covering 140km over 3 days exclusively on registered Criollo horses. The first two days run at controlled speeds of 15–16km/h; the final day features two free-speed loops: 40km, a vet check and rest, then a final 20km sprint. Categories include the 95kg class and a free-weight category. Clothing, saddling, and feeding rules mirror the Marcha — horses ride on grass and water only. All the spirit of the Marcha is here: speed, competition, gaucho barbecues, and parties. Three Marchitas are scheduled per year (April, late August, late September), with the championship final fixed in Jaguarão. Your hosts will scout and arrange the best accommodation for each venue.
